Safety always comes first!
As we come to the end of 2017 and will soon welcome the beginning of a new year, some employers may notice their drivers have received new electronic gadgets such as a mobile phones, satellite navigation devices and iPods as Christmas presents.
MacDonald Transport Ltd always we use this time to remind our drivers of the company policy for using such devices. We ensure that technology is always used in a safe and legal manner and of the regulations and potential penalties for non-compliance.
While all of our vehicles are equipped with a sat nav, we encourage our drivers to pull over to a safe and legal area if they cannot find the delivery location. This means they’re off the road and can fully concentrate on the task at hand, without putting anyone at risk. Furthermore, our drivers also use earpieces for any incoming calls...no distractions here at MacDonald Transport!
Most of us love to indulge at this time of year and that means enjoying a few drinks, but it’s so important that we all know our limits when it comes to driving.
Now that we’ve returned from a great Christmas break, we thought we’d take a look at the importance of rest for our drivers.
Merry Christmas everyone. We hope it's filled with joy, love, happiness...and of course, safe driving!
Think about loading in order to avoid being overloaded and know the maximum your van can legally weigh!
Speeding is still the biggest motoring-related offence, which is why we always ensure our drivers are operating in a safe and efficient manner.
Maintaining a vehicle to roadworthy standards should be a priority for everyone operating commercial vehicles.
